Artist Statement

I never considered myself an artist for a good chunk of my life. Rather, I was just someone who made stuff for the sake of making things. I have this run of creativity that comes and goes now and then, and I try to write down the ideas that I know I want to pursue or make note of some trend that appears on my social media feed. I used to commission other artists to bring these ideas to life, or at least, provide a visualization of my vision. I also have a passion for creating things whenever I see my friends' work, just because of their sheer talent. I have this sense of pride in their work and accomplishments which then fuels my passion to improve my own work.

I’ve mainly focused on video art/video production with a recent shift towards digital art illustrations, mainly pixel art right now. My videos mainly pertained to showcase/informative style videos with the occasional comedic one thrown in there whereas my current digital illustrations pertain to trends or media I’ve grown attached to. There isn’t usually a main idea/theme that I stick with because my favoritism/obsession of certain media changes constantly. At one point it could be space related ideas clouding my mind, another,  magical adventure ideas. With these ideas, I try to make characters that fit each and every environment/world that I’m obsessing over.

My process tends to be all over the place. Like I said before, I write down stuff that I see that catches my eye and inspires me so that way I don’t lose it in the future. I also tend to make a lot of art revolving memes. I usually make memes of myself, or, I make memes of my friends to get people to laugh. My main intent with these memes is to get people to laugh. Other times I’m inspired by the art my friends create and share with me. Their characters, their ideas, their illustrations. It’s all eye candy to me and it makes me want to continue to learn new techniques and styles to incorporate into my own.
